Miscellany - 21 March 2002

Another day another dollar. Or so the saying goes. Sometimes, though a dollar just doesn't seem worth it.

Of course, since I only got 4 hours of sleep on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, followed by a long day which included increasing my car payments by $63/month, I wasn't feeling terribly cheritable.

On the other hand, I get to do some research today which is a nice break. That and it helps convince the people in my department that they can live without me for a day, though that can be a bad thing too.

In other news, I didn't get to walk yesterday because I was locked in an all-day meeting, but today I'm going to take a walk if I have to run away to do it! My walks probably aren't long enough, but I decided to start slow & build. I figure once I don't get the least bit winded by my current path, it will be time to push the tempo and extend the track.

To walk around the entire park that I lunch at it would be about a 3.5 mile walk or so. Once I get proficient at that distance, there's another route that, leaving from the office's front door is all of 4.5 miles. But I'm not there yet... and I like my little pond.

My grandmother is fading. She'll be 93 in May, but this latest round of illnesses has her blood pressure sky rocketting again (I forget the lower number, but the upper one wa 290). And she doesn't even get out of bed some days. I know she won't live forever, but I hate the thought of losing her. That would be quite a blow.

Hopefully I'll be able to make at least one more trip out there before she sells her house or passes on. I love her so much.

Anyway, onto other, merrier news. I have 2 dens for scouts tomorrow. My bears and the Webelos 1. Their leader won't be there but didn't want to cancel, so I get both groups. I just don't know what I"m going to do with them. I'll have to figure that out tonight.

Gotta run
