Quiet Moments Of Reflection – 3 Jack stared vacantly at Hannah's picture. It had been her classmate on the last case. It could have been Hannah. Five minutes later and it could have been his daughter. A chill ran down his spine. "Get a grip, Jack," he berated himself. He'd been doing this job long enough to know it could happen; long enough to know better than to play the 'what if' game. He had always been very direct with his children when it came to stranger safety, but like any parent, he wasn't sure it was enough. Still he knew he couldn't do more, not unless he wanted to smother his children. Reaching out and tracing his finger along his daughter's picture, he released a sigh, turned out his light and left the office.
